It is common to find head lice in children who go to daycare centers or school. These are transfered from the children to adults. A person having lice should not be look down as it is something, which is very common and might happen to anyone in a person’s life.

There are different ways one can get head lice and often times one gets it without even knowing it since it can survive and live on hats, clothing, and furniture for several days, three days to be exact and without human contact at that. A member of the family can acquire it through contact with someone who has lice or indirect one and once a member of a family comes in contact with lice it can easily spread out to the rest of the family members.

Stopping the growth and spread of head lice is a priority for people responsible for children. Some daycare centers and preschools demand that children’s clothing be stored separated from others to prevent the spread of lice through contact with other children’s apparel. Head lice is quickly transferred from one child to another if caps or any type of head gear is shared. That is the reason some sports teams require individual protective head gear for each player.

Most people have heard of home remedies to get rid of head lice, but doctors recommend that you should use over the counter products to treat lice. These products are left on the head for certain amount of time, and then washed out. Then you must comb all the nits out with a fine-toothed comb to get rid of them.

You can use organic treatment against louse. In addition to using a special purpose organically-produced shampoo, you can also find ways to eliminate lice while avoiding smelly chemical treatments prescribed by doctors. For example, you might try and soak your hair all night in some type of oil to in effect, smother the little devils.

Head lice are different from pubic lice and are not treated the same way if one is trying to get rid of them. It is good to remember that just because a person has one type of lice, they do not necessarily have the other.
