Lice are absolutely detested by people. It is only apes and chimps that enjoy snacking on lice. It is difficult to describe just how distressed people get when head lice have become an insupportable part of their lives. It would be unreasonable for us to have to shave off all our hair to avoid or banish them. So one wonders whether there is more acceptable alternative for coping with this problem.
The good news is that there are many tried and tested techniques which when used effectively, would help you in your war against lice and lice related problems. First of all, let us understand “what are lice?” Lice are parasitic insects which feed on the blood of the scalp. In general, lice can be found in any body part (which is a little hairy). However, lice are found in large numbers in the scalp of a person.
There are two basic problems which lice cause- itching and blood-loss. When lice start multiplying themselves, they suck all the more blood from the scalp. This causes itching. Itching is not the only problem; if lice are not removed, it can result in other ailments too. Getting rid of lice is not that easy as the eggs of lice (known as “nits”) stick to the hair-strands. Due to this, it becomes difficult to wash them away using a “lice removal” shampoo.
If you have lice there are some things you should do immediately. Wash clothes, sheets and pillows in an antiseptic solution. Lice multiply very quickly and must be eliminated as fast as possible. Do not leave clothing out in the open. That would be a huge mistake. Get the lice off of it as soon as you can. Do whatever it takes. If you do not take immediate action the problem will just get worse.
To remove ‘nits,’ lice-combs are also helpful. Different people have different choices when it comes to treating lice, some prefer ‘herbal products’ while rely on the lice shampoos. It is an individual choice of product that you would like to use for ‘treating head lice.’ However, always keep in mind that excessive use of chemicals for treating lice might result in dull and ugly hair.
Ridding your hair of lice can be a real challenge. Some people wash their hair multiple times with special anti-lice shampoos. Many products claim to be able to get good results. Outcomes vary widely, however, depending on individual situations. People with long hair might find it hard to eliminate all the nits. People who are bald might find the job pretty easy. Keep trying until you find the right treatment for you.
Head lice cause both severe itching and blood loss. As the lice population begins multiplying, more blood is sucked from the scalp causing it to itch. If the lice aren’t removed, they can become the source of other health problems, too. Unfortunately, it isn’t easy getting rid of lice. Lice lay eggs, called “nits” which adhere tightly to the shafts of the hair. Even using a specially-formulated “lice removal” shampoo, it’s difficult to wash away the eggs. The choice of what to use in treating head lice is totally up to you. Using a lot of chemicals to treat lice can detract from the look of the hair though.
